Subject: The best NYE show since 1999.
People are saying to check out 2005 or 2007s NYEs over this one? YIKES! I was at every NYE from 2000 through 2009 (and eventually they got so bad in 2010- yes even worse than how they played through 04/05 that i gave up)
Anyway, this show is incredibly well put together with so many standout moments. You can tell it's a good show because one person is bitching about there being too much trance, and another person is bitching about there not being enough. That's usually a good indicator that the Biscuits found their sweet spot. It is fucking HILARIOUS that people complained about the "Untz" being so prevalent in 2006 when they had just sat through 2+ years of the Biscuits playing the same limp house jam in damn near every song, 2006 steadily turned that jam into something much fuller and infinitely more interesting thanks to Aucoin's brilliant e-drum work and Barber's re-dedication to minimalist guitar figures.
Highlights: Abyss starting from nothing and the absolutely perfect segue into the beginning of Spacebird. The entire 2nd set, but particularly the Solstice jams in Munchkin and Bazaar->Basis. God they were teasing that song HARD in this set, it really tied the room together, Dude.
Therapy seemed like SUCH a bizarre choice..but then, wait is this the BEST JAM EVER?! and it's in THERAPY?!? - Well, that's what I thought at the time. I think I punched 6 different people in the face. But apparently it wasn't a jam. Some song called Orch Theme or something? What? Orch Theme? From the Conspirator cd?! Shit! I knew that song too! Woopsies! The way they break back into Therapy is underrated genius as well. Caterpillar is kind of a mess, but they attempted to make it huge.. Fortunately after this, they fixed everything about Caterpillar (besides the lyrics, but what can ya do?) and made it an absolute juggernaut in 2007 and forward.
IMO, it's a 5 star show. It's era defining. This is where the 2.0 era kicked into hyperdrive. There were good shows in 2006, even a few great ones, but the 29th, 30th and 31st were the shows that made 2007 and all of it's genius possible.
*EMAN - let me know which shows (little UNTZ more JAM) that I would enjoy instead of sorting thru all these.
Subject: Minimal Untz
Subject: Fuck You : eman039 - 2 out of 5 stars

Maybe i'm a monkey, too : )
Btw, the bit about bananas and "Untz" might be the silliest thing I've ever read on the archive...
This show is amazing and the sound quality is superb!!

Subject: Another ragin' New Years with Bisco
Anyway, I missed pretty much all of Astronaut, but upon hearing it again it was pretty good. Not astounding, but good. Abyss>Spacebird>42>Spacebird was pretty insane, although I wish they'd stop playing 42 (it's a good song, they just play it way too often). Then where the hell did Trucker's come from??!? Whoda thunk it?
Set 2 they had a little fun and did Paul Revere to start things up. They did their thing, sounded good doing it, then moved on to much better things before too long. After that, set 2 became like 1 long trip. My first memory of 2007, taking a toke from my batty after it turns to midnight, then watching it fall to the floor and shatter. Oh well.
Set 2 was amazing in all aspects. Setlist was insane, playing was even better.
Encore... ahh, the encore. Quite possibly one of the best Spagas I've ever heard, clocking in at almost 25 minutes of pure mayhem.
This recording sounds really good. I suggest you don't haste and pick this up... PRONTO, BITCHES!
Happy new year to everyone. See you all on tour...

But while the show is awesome, the sound on this two piece recording isn't very good at all. Shifts from channel to channel and all.

Sound quality for this recording is exceptional! Very clear sound, but still am gonna wait fot the soundboard...hopefully in the next few days!
Subject: About the sound
And they are jamming pretty dark-electronic from the start. Cool new years with the addition of dope djs too.
